The founder’s story

A biodata lists what someone has. I wanted to know who they are.

I’ve spent my working life as a brand strategist, helping companies say honestly who they are. Somewhere along the way it struck me that we expect more honesty from a brand than we get when choosing the person we’ll spend our life with.

Think about what a biodata gives you: height, salary, education, family and the best photo someone has. It says nothing about how they treat you when they’re tired, how they handle an argument, how they think about money, or whether they’ll stand beside you in front of their own family. Those are the things that decide a marriage, and most of us only find them out after the wedding.

I didn’t want to build another place to swipe through faces. I wanted to build the honest layer that comes before a match: a profile that shows how someone really lives and loves, in a form a family can read and a partner can trust.

Chemistry gets you the first date. Character gets you the fiftieth anniversary.

So every member answers the same long, honest questionnaire, made of everyday moments rather than tick boxes. Our AI assesses it, and our team reviews the result. We say exactly that, because a service about honesty has to be honest about itself.

We called it Yours Honestly, the way you’d sign a letter you meant every word of. Our line, “Be known, before yes”, is the whole idea in four words.
